The inhabited small island of Isla de Arosa (local name Isla de Arousa) is part of (the island group) islands coast Galicia - Rías Bajas and is located in the country of Spain, Southern Europe. The distance to the mainland is, quite close about 1.2 km. The surface-area of the island is 6.4 km2 and is therefore 0.017 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Atlantic Ocean and the total coastal length is about 29.2 km and the dimensions of the island are approximately 6 km by 1.8 km (maximum width). The island is North-northwest - South oriented. The highest point is 68 meter and is named Con do Forno. The coordinates (latitude, longitude) of the island (center) for GPS are 42.55 (42°33'5.3748), -8.87 (-8°52'18.3288).


The population is 5020 and the population density is thus on 717.1 inhabitants per square kilometer (compared Isle of Wight 364 inhabitants / km²). The capital of the island is Arousa (located in the North of the island). The island is located in the Northwest of the country Spain. It is located in the administrative unit Autonomous Community Galicia (local administrative level-name Comunidad autónoma), in the Province Pontevedra (local administrative level-name Provincia).
