Description island Ouessant

The inhabited small island of Ouessant (local name Île d'Ouessant) is located in the country of France, Western Europe. The distance to the mainland is about 18.3 km. The surface-area of the island is 16 km2 and is therefore 0.042 x times greater than the island of Isle of Wight. The island lies in the Celtic Sea and the total coastal length is about 38.6 km and the length of the island is about km. The island is West-southwest - East-northeast oriented. The highest point is 64 meter. The coordinates (latitude, longitude) of the island (center) for GPS are 48.46 (48°27'3.6738), -5.09 (-5°5'7.7748).

The population is 863 and the population density is thus on 55 inhabitants per square kilometer (compared Isle of Wight 364 inhabitants / km²).
